C’Lai’s glorious history dates back to 1928’s. The era of well wearers of tailored clothing right from the royals to common people. With a passion of tailoring and knack of business, Mr G.R. Rao opened a dime store in Dadar – G.R. Rao Bros. Tailors in 1928. The excellent craftsmanship and the art of tailoring was shining bright right from the start. With generations joining the family business, C’Lai World rose pillar to pillar, stores to stores.
The inspiring journey of C’Lai in Pune started with a small 200 sq. ft. store – Shekhar Tailors and now has grown to many flagship stores and franchisees across Maharashtra and Karnataka in their stride.
With time, C’Lai has evolved as one of the leading fashion brands of Maharashtra. The brand is recognized and appreciated to understand and connect customers with the right fashion trends, occasions and festivities.

The first store of C’Lai World Legacy, back in 1980’s. This was in Dadar, Mumbai.
First Store in Pune- Sadashiv Peth*. – The business acumen of Dada, made him soon realise the thriving potential of Pune. The first store of Pune was opened in the hustling market of Sadashiv Peth.
Year by year C’Lai World started to be known and appreciated, soon the word of mouth spread and the bespoke tailoring started rising to fame.
The second C’Lai Store of Pune. With a great fashion sense, the prim custom design of C’Lai caught customers attention.
3rd C’Lai Store Pune.
First Retail Store, Tilak Road Pune* - With a flourishing tailoring business C’Lai World now ventured into Retail clothing business.
Launch of the In-house logo -Silverleaf. The C’Lai World Brand Extension.
